M.A.C Semi Precious Collection

M.A.C’s semi precious make-up collection appears very impressive on first look, let’s all hope that it can be as impressive to wear as it looks in the pans.

The collection includes 4 lipsticks (£13.50), 5 Cremeshine Glasses (£16.00), 3 Mineralized Blushes (£18.00), 4 Mineralized Skin Finishes (£20.50), 12 Mineralized Eye Shadows (£16.00), Mineralized Satin Finish SPF15 Foundation (£22.50), Mineralized Charged Water (£21.50) and Zoom Fast Black Lash (£13.50).

The lipsticks bring colour and texture to the lips, and are presented in bold colours and are exceptionally creamy. The four shades that are offered are called Gem of Roses, Lush Amber, Musky Amethyst and One of a Kind. The true colours range from strawberry pink to rosy neutral.

The Cremesheen Glass lip-gloss retail at £16 each. They combine the creamy sheen filled nature and the Cremesheen lipstick and the shine of M.A.C lip-glass. They are soft, comfortable and non-sticky. They can be used as a top layer on a lipstick or used alone. The 5 shades are called Geopink, Looks Like Sin, Natural Flare, Pure Magnificence and Richly Revered. The colours here are hugely ranging and they go from colours like a reddish plum to a light grey pink.

The Mineralized Blush that is offered in this collection is made up of backed minerals that are refined into a powder. It is an exceptionally sheer and lightweight powder and it builds up lightly, without giving the appearance of heavy coverage. It’s meant to be used to enhance cheek bones with a luminous, peralized simmer. The three shades that appear in this collection are Feeling Flush which is a combination of pinks, deep blues and soft browns. The second is called Pressed Amber and that colour is made up of swirls of nude, beige and brown. The final colour is called Warmth of Coral and is made up of coral and peach colours. They sell for £18 each.

The Zoom Fast Black Lash gives a more intense black colour than other M.A.C mascaras and is intensely rich, deep and carbon black. The want instantly combs and lifts the lashes and the formula gives incredible volume and length. This is the cheapest item in the collection at retails at £13.50

The Mineralized Skin Finish powders can be worn on the face and anywhere else on the body and they give a deluxe polish to the skin when applied. It’s a luxurious, velvet soft powder and it smooth’s onto the skin. It adds buffed up highlights when applied to the cheeks and the brows. The finish that it leaves is highly frosted and metallic. They sell at £20.50 each and come in four shades as stated above. The names of the finishes all start with Semi-Precious (the only items in the collection to hold the name) and are followed by Crystal Pink, Goldstone, Rose Quartz and Pearl. The powder in the pan looks strange and almost like something is crushed into the middle. The colours differ in the middle, giving these finishes 3 different colours. The base colour (the outer rim) provides one colour, the inner circle gives the second colour and the combination of the two give the third colour. The colours range from champagne, to plum to, silver.

The Mineralized eye shadows sell at £16 each and are available in 12 colours. The eye shadows look amazing in the pan. The colours are all swirled together and give you more than one colour for the expensive price. The only problem that may occur would be that each pan is different and it’s impossible to tell what combination of colours (like how much of each colour) you will get in the pan that you buy. The pans all combine up to four colours and this collection of eye shadows ranges hugely in colours. They are describes and a sheer, pearled and mineralized powder that is superfine and lightweight. The powder is softly tinted and gives a reflective shimmer when it’s placed on the skin. The colour and shine that is given by these shadows builds subtly and even though they are called eye shadows, they can be used anywhere on the body. These eye shadows can be applied dry and wet which also gives some variance in the colour when they are applied. The wet application appears to give the colour a more combined and intense colour when put onto the skin.

The Mineralized Sating Finish SPF15 Foundation is sold in 30 ml bottles and sells for £22.50. The colours range hugely and could fit almost any skin tone. This foundation would be best for people with normal to dry skin and it gives a low to medium coverage of the skin. It combines a blend of natural light reflecting micro minerals and a fluid that give a smooth satin finish.

The Mineralized Charged Water is a refreshing and hydrating mist that is said to replenish the skin and it’s meant to enhance the application of makeup and wear. It sells at £21.50 in shops. It’s worth noting that it’s similar to the fix + water that M.A.C offers and it’s also worth a note that it’s not a setting spray for your make up either. A good suggestion may be to refrigerate the spray in the hot summer and give yourself a spray when you pass the fridge or need a cool down.

The four brushes in the collection combine real goat hair and synthetic fibres. The combination of the two fibres ensures that they makeup blends well on the skin and stays for a goods amount of time. The brushes that are offered are the 179 Angled Split Fibre Buffer Brush (£32.50). The goat hair in this brush picks up the powder and gives it a diffused look on the skin. The synthetic fibre fuses the colour onto to skin and gives the powder a more polished and luminous look. The second brush that is offered is the 128 Split Fibre Cheek Brush is meant to be used for blush application. The combination of the fibres gives the blush (when used for that) and soft and diffused look on the skin. The other two brushes that are offered are eye brushes. The first of the eye brushes is 234 Split Fibre Blending Brush and it sells for £15. The goat hair in this brush picks up the powder and pigment and the synthetic fibre blends the colour on the skin. The second of the eye brushes is the 235 All Over Eye Brush. It sells for £21. This brush allows you to create whatever look you want, whether that be edgy or elegant or subtle or sizzling.

In the image here you can see both sides of the brush, with both the goat hair and the synthetic fibres.
